Is AI Killing Art?

Yep, I’ve also jumped on the Studio Ghibli-style AI image trend. Is AI Killing Art? Here’s what’s actually happening.
With AI now able to turn any image into a Studio Ghibli-style masterpiece or generate poetry in the voice of history’s greatest writers, people are questioning: Is AI replacing artists? Are writers, illustrators, and creatives at risk?
I can’t help but laugh when I see these takes. ◡̈
Not because AI isn’t impressive—it is. In fact, I used ChatGPT to brainstorm ans refine parts of this post. AI is making my life so much easier, and ❤︎ I love the tools it offers to streamline creative work.
But AI can’t replace art.

•••••
I recently learned that a single scene from Studio Ghibli’s “The Wind Rises” took 15 months to complete. At 24 frames per second, that’s 96 hand-drawn images, averaging just 6.4 images per month.
Every character in the crowd has their own personality, each movement carefully crafted to tell a story.
Now, AI can generate a Studio Ghibli-style image in seconds. The style is there, the colors, the aesthetic, but something’s missing. AI can mimic the look, but it doesn’t carry the “magic” — the depth of human intention.
•••••
Because art isn’t just about what we SEE. It’s about what we 𖦹 FEEL.
It’s not just the final product—it’s the meaning behind it. The why, the who, the #human story that makes people connect.
AI can mimic style with stunning accuracy and provide incredible tools to help artists—but it doesn’t have something that MAKES ART ART: A SOUL.

So what’s actually happening?
=========
The generic, the repetitive, the mass-produced? AI is making that easier than ever to create.
But that’s exactly why #brands are starting to invest more and more in ♡human content—real stories, real people, real emotions.
Because in an ocean of AI-generated content, the only way to stand out is to be REAL.
AND THAT? THAT EXCITES ME MORE THAN ANY AI EVER COULD.
But hey—the Studio Ghibli-style anime image my husband created of us using ChatGPT is the ♡ cutest. (but it’s not art)
